#YouShape Month is Back!

Whilst Youth-Shaped Scouting is something we should do every day of the year, in February we take a particular focus on celebrating all we do to empower our young people.

We’ve got loads of opportunities for your to get involved this February!

Biggest Ever Forum!

We’d like as many young people as possible to take part in Nottinghamshire’s ‘Biggest Ever Forum’. We have one simple question, and we’d like every section, group, unit and district to take part so that we can generate as many ideas as possible! The question is: Which activities would you like to have on your dream camp?

Please ask your young people, collate your responses (duplicate activities are fine, as it helps to show popularity), and email them to forum@notts-scouts.org.uk.

Youth Shaped Scouting Conference Call

We are aware that Youth Shaped Scouting often raises a lot of questions; What is it? How can Beavers be Youth Shaped? What does Youth Shaped Scouting actually look like? We hosted a conference call to answer these questions and more about Youth Shaped Scouting, including a Q&A session for any questions you had. You can watch the recording back at your leisure.

Postcard Forums

In order to deliver a youth-shaped programme, you need to be able to effectively retrieve ideas from the young people in your sections. To do this a set of Postcard Forums will be sent to GSLs/ESLs. These are a collection of section specific cards with everything you need to run a useful and meaningful forum.

It also includes some top tips and more information on ‘Wear their Necker’. We’re asking you to run one of these forums with your young people during February. Remember you can share images and videos from your forums on Twitter using #YouShape and tagging @NottsScoutsYC or by emailing them to office@notts-scouts.org.uk and we can share them for you.
