Membership Fee Support

About the grant

We want to ensure that we can continue to offer Scouting to those who benefit most, and that the membership fee increases are not a barrier to their participation.

Nottinghamshire Scouts have set aside up to £10,000 of funding to support young people who may struggle to pay membership fees this year. This funding is designed to cover the cost of the County and National membership fees.

How to apply

Any Section Team Leader who feels a young person in their section would benefit from this support should discuss this with their Group Lead Volunteer or 14-24 team lead who should complete the form and send to their District Lead Volunteer. The deadline for submissions is Friday 14th February 2025. You will need to submit your annual accounts for the 2023/24 year when you apply.

Eligibility Criteria

The grant scheme is available to all Scout Groups and Explorer Units within Nottinghamshire.
This scheme is built on trust, please do not abuse this.
Section Leaders should work with their Group Lead Volunteer (or District 14-24 team lead for Explorer units) to complete the form.
You should include any young person who may be at risk of not being able to continue Scouting without this financial support.
For our due-diligence checks, we ask that groups submit their 2023/24 accounts to the District. This is not for inspection, but to know that any awarded funds are managed properly.
This scheme is for young people who may not be able to afford the membership fee only, it should not be used as a grant for groups that cannot afford the membership fees due to not collecting the correct funds from it's members over the year.
